Results of research conducted within the DYLAN Project by Lancaster University Researchers Michal Krzyzanowski and Ruth Wodak has just been published in the prestigious Language Policy journal listed on, inter alia, Journal Citation Reports and Social Sciences Citation Index. In their article “Political strategies and language policies: the European Union Lisbon strategy and its implications for the EU’s language and multilingualism policy” published in Language Policy 10(12), Krzyzanowski and Wodak explore the interplay between the politics and policies of multilingualism by looking at the role of political macro-strategies in shaping language and multilingualism policies in the European Union. Drawing on the extensive analyses conducted in the course of DYLAN research, the paper targets the relationship between the European Union’s 2000–2010 Lisbon Strategy on the European Knowledge-Based Economy and the content and scope of EU language and multilingualism policies of the same period.
